Fact-Check

The Rumor Scanner Team’s investigation found that the claim regarding a UN sanction on the army is not true; rather, this widely circulated claim on the internet lacks any credible source.

At the beginning of the investigation, the Rumor Scanner Team analyzed the video in question. Upon observation, no information could be found regarding any sanctions by the United Nations on the Bangladesh Army. Instead, the video in question has been overlaid with irrelevant music from an Indian Hindi movie.

By reviewing the official website of the United Nations (UN Official Website), as well as their social media accounts (X, Instagram, YouTube), no evidence of any such sanction on the Bangladesh Army was found.

Furthermore, if the UN had imposed sanctions on the Bangladesh Army, it would have been widely reported by both local and international media. However, no such news has been found in the media.

It is worth mentioning that in the past, false information has been circulated on the internet at various times claiming that the Bangladesh Army was sanctioned. The Rumor Scanner Team published several fact-check reports on these claims: 1, 2, 3.

Therefore, the claim that the United Nations has sanctioned the Bangladesh Army is completely false.
