Fact-Check
An investigation by the Rumor Scanner team found that the claim of Cristiano Ronaldo donating $2 million USD for food and humanitarian aid for the children of Gaza is not true. In fact, the claim was circulated without any reliable evidence.
Upon investigation, an observation of the posts circulating the claim revealed no mention of any reliable evidence to support the claim. An investigation into the source of this claim found the earliest likely viral post containing the claim was posted on an X account named ‘RKM’ on October 20. However, no reliable evidence was cited in that post to support the claim.
Furthermore, no information regarding this was found on Cristiano Ronaldo’s verified Facebook page, X account, or Instagram account.
A search with relevant keywords also failed to find any evidence supporting the claim from reliable sources. In fact, if a football star like Ronaldo had made or announced such a donation, it would have been widely reported by international media.
Notably, similar false donation claims concerning Ronaldo have been circulated in the past, and the Rumor Scanner team published fact-check reports on those as well.
Therefore, the claim that Cristiano Ronaldo has donated $2 million USD for food and humanitarian aid for the children of Gaza is false and baseless.
