An investigation by the Rumor Scanner team found that the circulated video is neither recent nor filmed in Delhi. In fact, it dates back to December 29, 2023, when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the mausoleum of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungipara, Gopalganj.
An investigation into this matter involved observing the circulated video, which confirmed that the architecture visible in the video is Sheikh Mujib’s mausoleum, located in Tungipara, Gopalganj.
An investigation found a report published by the media outlet Dhaka Times on December 30, 2023, which states that Sheikh Hasina paid her respects at the mausoleum of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman upon arriving in Tungipara, Gopalganj, at night for an election tour. She paid her respects as the head of government on Friday (December 29) night. A comparative analysis of the photo included in the report with the circulated video shows a match in the design and color of the sari worn by Sheikh Hasina in both instances.
Additionally, a news report regarding Sheikh Hasina’s Tungipara visit and her visit to Sheikh Mujib’s mausoleum was also published on the YouTube channel of the mainstream media outlet Somoy Television on December 30, 2023.
Therefore, a video from Sheikh Hasina’s 2023 visit to Tungipara is being circulated as a video of her recent meeting in Delhi; which is false.
