নিরপেক্ষতা নিশ্চিত করতে রিউমর স্ক্যানার-এর সদস্যদের নিম্নলিখিত শর্তাবলী বাধ্যতামূলক মেনে চলতে হবে
- কোন রাজনৈতিক দলের পক্ষে প্রচারণা চালানো থেকে বিরত থাকা।
- এমন প্রতীক বা পোশাক পরিধান থেকে বিরত থাকা যা কোন রাজনৈতিক মতকে ধারণ করে।
- রাজনৈতিক সাহিত্যের মুদ্রণ, ডিজিটাল বা অন্য কোন উপায়ে সেগুলো প্রকাশ বা প্রচার না করা।
- রিউমর স্ক্যানার-এর সরঞ্জাম/উপকরণ ব্যবহার করে রাজনৈতিক সাহিত্য বা মতামত কোন রূপে মুদ্রণ ও অনুলিপি থেকে বিরত থাকা।
- অনুসন্ধানের স্বার্থে শুধুমাত্র তথ্য সংগ্রহ ব্যতীত কোন রাজনৈতিক দলের পক্ষে বা বিরুদ্ধে নিজে প্রতিবাদে অংশ নেওয়া বা কোন ব্যক্তিকে প্রতিবাদ করতে বাধ্য না করা।

‘ নির্দলীয় নীতিমালা ‘ নিশ্চিত করতে আমরা সদস্য নিয়োগের পূর্বে তাদেরকে আমাদের সকল নীতিমালা সম্পর্কে অবহিত করি এবং সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমে তাদের ব্যাক্তিগত কার্যক্রম পর্যালোচনা করি। নিয়োগ প্রত্যাশীদের কার্যক্রম যাচাই করার পর আমরা নিয়োগ সম্পর্কিত সিদ্ধান্তে উপনীত হই। নিয়োগ পরবর্তী পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে নিয়োগপ্রাপ্ত সদস্যদের ফ্যাক্ট-চেক সম্পর্কিত সাধারণ জ্ঞান থেকে শুরু করে নিরপেক্ষতা নীতি ও স্বচ্ছতা সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত প্রশিক্ষণ দেয়া হয়।
ফ্যাক্ট চেকিং নিয়ে কাজ শুরুর পূর্বে শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষানবিশ ফ্যাক্ট-চেকারদের ওরিয়েন্টেশনের অংশ হিসেবে সহকারী সম্পাদকের নেতৃত্বে নিরপেক্ষতা নীতি সম্পর্কে প্রশিক্ষণ দেয়া হয়।

The core principle of Rumor Scanner is non-partisan journalism. Every fact check is conducted with utmost importance, accuracy, and independence from any third-party influence. Rumor Scanner maintains political neutrality, and our team members do not have any political affiliations. While each team member may hold personal political opinions, they are committed to objectivity and neutrality. To ensure this, we follow a transparent and thorough system for operating and preparing every fact-check report.
At Rumor Scanner, there is no room for individual bias or unilateral decision-making. Each fact check follows a strategy of investigation and analysis. Our expert research team utilizes its technological skills to identify and analyze information. No reporter works alone; fact-checking is always a team effort. To prevent conflicts of interest, we discourage our team members from joining or supporting any political parties or adopting any policy positions. Additionally, we do not accept donations or monetary support from such sources.
Team Member Rules for Ensuring Non-Partisanship
- Refrain from campaigning for any political parties.
- Avoid wearing or using symbols or attire associated with any political ideology.
- Do not publicize or share political literature in printed or digital form.
- Do not use Rumor Scanner’s tools or equipment to print, copy, or communicate any political literature or views.
- Refrain from participating in political protests or influencing others to do so, except for collecting information.
- Do not interfere with other team members exercising their citizenship rights.
- Do not discourage other team members from adhering to these rules.
Ensuring Compliance
To uphold our non-partisan policy, we make team members aware of these rules and screen their social media activities before onboarding. New members receive training on fact-checking general knowledge, transparency, and non-partisanship.
Student and intern fact-checkers undergo an orientation workshop led by the Deputy Editor, focusing on the “Non-Partisan Policy.”
Additionally, the founding Editor and Assistant Editor hold a monthly meeting with all members to ensure compliance with our core values and to reinforce our commitment to neutrality as a fact-checking organization.
