Fact-Check

An investigation by the Rumor Scanner team found that Aziz Khan made no such comment about receiving 4.5 lakh Taka per week by investing 31,000 Taka, nor is he associated with any such investment company. Furthermore, Ekattor Television did not broadcast any such video of him. In reality, a video of Aziz Khan from 2024, taken in a different context, has been edited to include the Ekattor Television logo and is being circulated with the claim in question.

At the beginning of the investigation, based on the Ekattor Television logo in the video, no such video or information was found on the media outlet’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, or website.

Subsequently, a video message published on June 10, 2024, was found on a Facebook page operated under Aziz Khan’s name. In that video, Aziz Khan’s attire, the background, and all other surrounding details match the video in question.

Video Comparison By Rumor Scanner

In this video message, Aziz Khan did not make any comments related to the claim in question. Instead, he was thanking a company named Xyera for their work.

In other words, a segment of that video was clipped and edited using digital technology to create the circulated video.

Therefore, the video circulated in Aziz Khan’s name with the claim of receiving 4.5 lakh Taka per week by investing 31,000 Taka is edited.
