The boats of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which started its journey from Barcelona, Spain on August 31 to protest Israel’s illegal blockade of Gaza, were unable to reach Gaza. The Israeli navy conducted an operation and arrested about 450 human rights activists from various countries. In this context, a video has been circulated on social media with the claim that aid has arrived in Palestine.

Fact-check
An investigation by the Rumor Scanner team found that aid from the Global Sumud Flotilla did not recently arrive in Gaza. In reality, a video of aid that arrived in Gaza last August is being circulated with the said claim.
An investigation into this matter found a match between the viral video and a video posted on the Instagram account of Palestinian journalist ‘abd__dawas2’ on August 10.

The video’s caption claims, “Amid cries of ‘Allahu Akbar,’ as if it were Eid day—I was finally able to get a bag of flour from the aid that entered Gaza. The joy is indescribable—may Allah soon relieve our suffering.” (Translated)
Subsequently, the Rumor Scanner team contacted journalist Dawas. He stated that the video was filmed when there was a severe famine in the Gaza Strip, about three months ago. He said, “I received this bag from the aid trucks that came through the Miraj crossing in the southern region of Gaza.”
Therefore, this is not a recent video from Gaza.
Thus, a video showing the arrival of aid in Gaza last August has been circulated with a recent claim; which is misleading.
