Recently, a video claiming that stones weighing 20 kg are falling with the rain, with the caption, ‘Breaking News The terrifying hailstorm in the United States, is this a sign of Qiyamah (the Day of Judgment)…..!’ has been circulated on media outlets and various platforms on the internet.

Fact-Check
An investigation by the Rumor Scanner team found that the video circulated with the claim of a hailstorm in the United States is not authentic. In fact, a video created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) has been circulated with the claim of being a scene from a real event.
At the beginning of the investigation into this matter, an observation of the circulated video showed some inconsistencies, such as massive hailstones rolling on the ground and seemingly merging into a wall.
To confirm the nature of this video, Rumor Scanner tested the video using the ‘AVSRDD (2025)’ model of the AI content detection platform ‘DeepFake-O-Meter‘. The test showed that the probability of the video being AI-generated is nearly 100 percent.
Subsequently, two similar videos (1, 2) were found on an Instagram account named Love Trends Ai. The video in question was created by combining these videos.
An observation of these videos shows the watermark of the AI video creation platform InVideo. Furthermore, a review of the video captions reveals the hashtag ‘#InVideoAI’ and that the videos are labelled with ‘AI Info,’ which means the poster themselves identified the video as created with artificial intelligence (AI).
Observing other content on the account shows that video content generated by artificial intelligence (AI) is regularly promoted here. More videos claiming to show hailstorm scenes were found on the account.
If an event of such a heavy hailstorm in the United States were true, the video or still images of the incident and a description of the event would have been circulated. However, no mention of such an event was found in the media or any reliable source.
Therefore, an AI-generated video has been circulated with the claim of being a scene from a hailstorm in the United States; which is false.
