On November 25, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote and principal of Pundarik Dham, was arrested (Kaler Kantho report) by the Detective Police from Shahjalal Airport. The next day, November 26, police presented him in Chattogram’s Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam’s court (link), where he applied for bail. However, the court rejected the bail application and ordered him to be sent to jail. On December 3, a hearing for Chinmoy Krishna Das was scheduled, but due to the absence of his lawyer, the hearing was deferred to January 2 (link).
Following this, Radha Raman Das, the vice president of ISKCON’s Kolkata branch, made a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account (link).
The post included a photo of an injured man receiving treatment in a hospital, claiming that the injured man, named Ramen Roy, is Chinmoy Krishna Das’s lawyer. It further alleged that Muslims attacked Ramen Roy’s home, and assaulted him and that he is currently in the ICU.
The post led to coverage in Indian media outlets, including: NDTV, The Times of India, Business Stan, Zee 24 Ghanta, The Indian Express, WION, The Financial Express, Republic, News9, TV9, Aaj Tak, Times Now News, India Today, ABP Ananda, Hindustan Times, Lokmat Times, PTC News, The Free Press Journal, One India, Mathrubhumi, NewsX, CNN News 18, The Tatva, Swarajya, Mint, NewsBytes, Vibes of India & HW News.
Several Indian media outlets also shared the claim on their X accounts: The Times of India, The Jaipur Dialogues, RT India, Times Algebra & Times Now.

Fact Check
The investigation by the Rumor Scanner team reveals that the injured individual in the photo, Ramen Roy, is not Chinmoy Krishna Das’s lawyer, as previously claimed. In fact, while Ramen Roy is a lawyer, he has no connection to Chinmoy Krishna Das’s case. The truth is that Ramen Roy was injured during an attack by miscreants at a protest organized by Hindus in Shahbagh on November 25, against Chinmoy’s arrest. However, there is no evidence to support the claims of his house being vandalized.
At the start of the investigation, a relevant keyword search led to a Facebook post by the page Hindus News on November 25 (link, Archive). The post mentioned that Advocate Ramen Roy was critically injured during an attack on Sanatan adherents at Shahbagh and was admitted to Dhaka Medical College.
Additionally, a post (link) on December 1 from a Facebook account named ‘Dayamay Biswas Dipu’ indicates that Ramen Roy, the lawyer injured on November 25 in Shahbagh, is receiving treatment at LabAid Hospital.
A report published on November 25 by Dhaka Tribune (link) confirmed that miscreants attacked a sit-in protest by the Bangladesh Sanatan Jagaran Mancha at Shahbagh, organized to protest Chinmoy Krishna Das’s arrest. The report noted that one of the injured was 50-year-old Ramen Roy. This information aligns with reports from other domestic media outlets (Source 1, Source 2).
This confirms that Ramen Roy was injured during the Shahbagh attack on November 25.
Furthermore, no recent information from media or credible sources corroborates claims of vandalism at Ramen Roy’s house.
To verify further, the Rumor Scanner team contacted Shwatantra Gauranga Das, a representative of the Bangladesh Sammilita Sanatani Jagran Jote. He confirmed that the incident had been misrepresented by the Indian media, clarifying that while Ramen Roy was indeed injured in Shahbagh on November 25, he is not Chinmoy Krishna Das’s lawyer.
Conclusion
The claims that Romen Roy, injured in the attack by miscreants, is Chinmoy Krishna Das’s lawyer and that his house was vandalized are entirely false.
