Fact-check
The Rumor Scanner team’s investigation found that the circulated video does not show the rape and murder of a woman from a minority community by a jihadi. Instead, it is a video of the murder of a Muslim woman, which has been falsely shared with that claim.
In this investigation, a video posted on March 26 by a Facebook profile named Sujon Bepari was found here. The circulated video resembles the video posted there.

According to the caption of that video, a housewife named Mukta Begum (45) was murdered by having her throat slit by a gang of robbers in the village of Barey Jangal in the Chhaygaon Union under Bhedarganj Police Station in Shariatpur district.
Further investigation found a report published on the Prothom Alo website on March 26 titled “After finishing prayers, he returned home to find his wife’s bloody body on the bed”, which reported that on the night of March 25, a woman named Mukta Begum (55) was murdered in Bareijangal village of Ward 5, Chhaygaon Union, under Vedarganj upazila in Shariatpur. On the morning of March 26, police recovered her body and sent it to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Mukta Begum lived in the village with her husband, Mannan Gazi, who was at the local mosque for Taraweeh prayers at the time of the incident. Following the incident, announcements were made over mosque loudspeakers late into the night across the village and nearby areas, claiming that a group of robbers had killed a woman.
However, police have stated that this was not a case of robbery. According to them, unidentified individuals committed the murder and fled the scene. Vedarganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Parvez Ahmed told Prothom Alo, “We went to the area after receiving information that a robbery had taken place and a woman was killed. The woman was found with her throat slit. However, this was not a robbery. Someone killed her, but nothing from the house was stolen. Even the family has no idea who might have done this. Police have begun an investigation into the incident.”
In other words, the victim was a Muslim woman, and the case is still under investigation with the motive yet to be determined.
Conclusion
Therefore, an ongoing murder case involving a Muslim woman has been falsely portrayed as the rape and murder of a woman from a minority community by a jihadi. This claim is false.
