Recently, a video has been circulated on the social media platform Facebook with the caption: “This is how the politics of the BNP and NCP camps is going on.” In the video, someone is seen striking a man on the shoulder with a shovel.

Rumor Scanner team’s investigation reveals that the video, falsely claimed to depict a recent political clash in Bangladesh, is actually footage from a Punjabi music video filmed in India.
Upon investigation using reverse image search on key frames of the video, a video was found on a YouTube channel named Kashyap up35k, published on July 1st, which can be viewed here. A portion of that video matches exactly with the circulated footage. On analysis, it is confirmed that this is the extended version of the circulated video.
From the video’s title and hashtags, it is clear that the footage is from an action scene being filmed for an Indian Punjabi music video. Additionally, the location tag of the video shows it was recorded in Chandigarh, the capital city of the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana.
Further examination of the YouTube channel reveals that it mainly shares behind-the-scenes footage of Punjabi music video shoots. Watch some similar behind-the-scenes videos from the channel here, here, here, and here. However, due to the lack of detailed information in the channel’s description, it was not possible to find out more about the person operating the channel.
It is worth noting that, according to data from the human rights organization Human Rights Support Society (HRSS), available here, at least 529 incidents of political violence have occurred in the country over the past six months, resulting in 79 deaths and at least 4,124 injuries.
Therefore, a video from the filming of a Punjabi music video in India is being falsely presented as footage of a recent political conflict in Bangladesh. This claim is entirely false.
