Fact-check

Rumor Scanner’s investigation reveals that the video being circulated with the claim of a recent Iranian missile attack on Israel is not from the current time. Instead, the video shows an Iranian missile strike on Israel’s Nevatim Air Base that took place in 2024.

During the investigation, a video was found on the YouTube channel Hot Current News – HCN, published on October 2, 2024, titled “Iran’s Missile Attack on Israel – Video Footage”. The visuals in this video closely resemble the ones being circulated with the misleading claim.

The same video was also published by Turkish media outlet TRT World on its YouTube channel on October 1, 2024, under the title “Israel’s Nevatim Airbase hit by Iranian missile”.

Comparison: Rumor Scanner

According to the description of the video, on October 1, 2024, after Tehran launched a rocket strike in retaliation for Israeli attacks in Lebanon, Iranian missiles struck Israel’s Nevatim Airbase near Be’er Sheva (Bir al-Sabi).

In other words, the video does not depict a recent Iranian missile attack on Israel.

Conclusion

The video being circulated as a recent Iranian missile attack on Israel is actually footage from a 2024 missile strike on Israel’s Nevatim Air Base. The claim is misleading.
