As part of a global effort to deliver aid to Gaza by sea, a fleet named the Global Sumud Flotilla began its journey from Barcelona, Spain, on August 31. The vessels are gradually making their way towards Gaza. In this context, video footage of a naval convoy at sea is being circulated on social media with the claim that representatives from 44 countries have reached near Gaza with the convoy.

Fact-check
The Rumor Scanner team’s investigation found that the circulated footage of the naval convoy is not recent. Instead, a video from last May showing Galatasaray soccer club fans celebrating their Turkish Super Lig championship is being circulated with the said claim.
An investigation into this matter found a match between the viral video and a video published on a TikTok account named batu kaya 21 on May 26. However, the Global Sumud Flotilla’s journey began three months after this. Therefore, it is impossible for the video to be of the Global Sumud Flotilla. The caption of the TikTok video was found to use hashtags such as keşfet, İstanbul, and şampiyon Galatasaray. Here, şampiyon Galatasaray indicates that a team named Galatasaray became champion.

Galatasaray is a soccer club. The club became the Turkish Super Lig champion on May 18. A video published on the club’s X account on May 25 shows fans celebrating on the sea with boats.
The BBC states that the video in question is a scene from this celebration.
Therefore, an old video of a different event has been circulated with the claim that representatives from 44 countries are near Gaza with a naval convoy, which is False.
