Dubai Fire Video Falsely Linked to Iran-Israel Strike

On Friday (June 13), Israel launched attacks targeting Iran’s nuclear and military facilities. In response, Iran fired missiles back at Israel.

Amid these developments, a video began circulating online claiming that Iran had targeted the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a missile attack. The video shows a skyscraper engulfed in flames.

Fact Check

Rumor Scanner Team’s investigation reveals that the circulated video is not related to any Iranian attack on Israel. In fact, the footage of a high-rise building on fire does not come from any location in Israel. Rather, it shows a fire incident that took place on June 13 at the 67-storey “Marina Pinnacle” in the Marina area of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

As part of this investigation, a video titled “Massive Fire in Dubai Marina Building Extinguished – Breaking News” was found on the YouTube channel of Pakistani private news outlet Geo News, published on June 14. The video closely matches the one circulated with the false claim. According to its caption, the video depicts a fire in a Dubai Marina building.
