Recently, a video has been shared on social media claiming that Bangladeshi people harassed an Indian tourist in Bangladesh. An X (formerly Twitter) handle posted the video with the claim: “Bangladeshis harassing an Indian girl who was visiting Bangladesh.”

Fact-Check

Rumor Scanner found that the claim is not true. The girl in the video is Indian-Canadian model Yesha Sagar, who is currently working with a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) cricket franchise and has become a viral sensation this season. In the viral video, fans were actually taking selfies with her, and she responded with smile.

While reviewing the video, we identified the girl as Yesha Sagar and investigated it accordingly. We found that the video was uploaded on a Facebook page named Sylhetview on January 13. The caption of the post reads: “Yesha Sagar took selfie with the audience with a smile.”

The video shows Yesha Sagar, who is currently in Bangladesh for BPL 2025, working as a host for the BPL franchise Chittagong Kings and has become a viral sensation this season. She was walking toward her car outside the stadium when some fans approached her for selfies. The video also shows two men, apparently assigned to protect her, shielding her and moving the fans away. She then got into the car.

There are no signs of harassment in the video, and also she has not made any such claims.

Meanwhile, her Instagram posts and the interviews she has given shows that she is enjoying her time and work in Bangladesh and has also praised the hospitality.

Hence, a video showing fans approaching Yesha Sagar, the host for Chittagong Kings this BPL season and an Indian Canadian model, for selfies was falsely shared as an incident of an Indian tourist being harassed in Bangladesh. Therefore, the claim is false.
