Recently, a claim has gone viral on social media Facebook stating that a robot playing badminton with two boys. Facebook users are sharing it as a real incident.

Fact-Check

According to Rumor Scanner’s investigation, this video is not of a real incident, rather this video has been edited with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) by replacing the man in the original video with  a robot.

At the beginning of the investigation, The Rumor Scanner Team conducted a reverse image search by using some photos of the viral video. It led the team to a video posted by the Facebook page named ‘Phalore bedmation club.’ on 21st of October in 2021.

This video is similar to the viral video that shows a robot playing badminton with two boys.

In addition, the video that contains the claim was also found on a Tiktok account (magicalmagicworld) published on 5th September this year. The description of the video revealed that it was created with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

That is, after analyzing the above information, it is clear that the viral video is not real.

Basically, a video of a man playing badminton with two boys was published on the internet in previous times. But recently, the video has been circulated on the internet after replacing the man with a robot with the help of artificial intelligence and claiming it as a real incident.

Notably, The Rumor Scanner published a fact-check report identifying a video circulated on the internet that was also made with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).

So, the video that shows a robot playing badminton with two boys circulated on the internet is edited or altered.
