The photographer digitally incorporated the airplane, creating a composition where all four modes of transportation appeared together. This led to a widespread misconception that the scene was authentic.
The investigation was initiated with a reverse image search, which traced back to an Instagram post by a user named Gopii12868 (username: aurobindo_sf), posted on October 30, 2021.
This Instagram post contained two images. The first was the disputed photograph, which was described in the caption as being taken in Visakhapatnam, India, and featuring four different modes of transportation. However, it was acknowledged that the airplane scene had been digitally added to the picture.
The second image in the post was identified as the original photograph, which notably did not include the airplane.
