Recently, a video of a young girl dressed as a bride fainting upon seeing her groom, an elderly man, went viral on social media.
A post on X (formerly Twitter) shared the video with the caption: “In an arranged marriage in Bangladesh, the young girl fainted when she saw the man she was married to.”
Another X handle posted the video with the caption: “A young Muslim bride in Bangladesh faints after seeing that her husband is an 80-year-old man.”

Fact-Check
Rumor Scanner found that the claim is not true. The video is not a real incident but a staged and scripted production created by a content team. It was misleadingly shared as a real incident from Bangladesh.
Upon investigation, we found that the video was originally uploaded by a Facebook page named ‘Wedding Studio’ on July 26, 2024.
The full video, along with other content on the page, clearly indicates that it is scripted. The page regularly produces such staged videos, most of which revolve around marriage-related themes. The captions of their videos further confirm their scripted nature.
Additionally, we found another video of the same elderly man and young girl sitting in front of a different background, uploaded on the same Facebook page in October 2024. In this video, the supposed wedding photographer addresses the elderly man as “uncle,” which made the man react angrily, questioning why he was being made to feel older. The content of this video further confirms that these are scripted productions, not real-life events.
So, the viral video shared as real is a scripted production, not a real event. Therefore, the claim that a young girl fainted in Bangladesh upon seeing the man she was married to is misleading.
