Fact-Check
Rumor Scanner found that the photo does not show Hindu dead bodies, but rather the bodies of two Muslim men, which were found in December 2024. Therefore, the claim that two Hindu men were killed for protesting against persecution in Bangladesh is false.
By performing a reverse image search, we found the image in a post from a Facebook ID named Sayed Babul, posted on December 8, 2024. The caption of the post translates as: “The police have recovered the bodies of two young men from a remote field in the Jafriganj area of Debidwar Upazila, Comilla. The deceased are Monirul Islam from Jafriganj and Mohan Mia from Ramgarh, Khagrachhari.”
The post mentions the names of the deceased, Monirul Islam and Mohan Mia, who are both Muslims.
“Later, we found several reports on the incident confirming the same information as mentioned in the Facebook post by Sayed Babul. According to an NTV report, the bodies were recovered from a field in the Jafriganj area of Debidwar Upazila, Comilla, around 9:30 AM on Sunday, December 8.
The deceased have been identified as Monirul Islam from Jafriganj, Debidwar, and Mohan Mia from Ramgarh, Khagrachhari. Both were involved in internet bill collection and related work. Police confirmed the recovery of the bodies and sent them for autopsy at Comilla Medical College Hospital. The cause of death is still unclear, and an investigation is ongoing to determine whether it was a murder or another cause, police said.

Hence, the photo shows the dead bodies of two Muslim men from Comilla in December 2024, not the body of any Hindu man from Tangail. Therefore, the claim that two Hindu men were killed for protesting against persecution in Bangladesh is false.
